Lisbon : Love, Joy and New Beginnings
Last weekend I spent 36 hours in my husband's new part-time home city of Lisbon. It was my first visit and one that felt like the real beginning of this new adventure for us.
Back in October (2023) my husband was about to go to Lisbon for a week for work but the work contract got cancelled at the last minute. Things hadn’t been easy for us for months and I was looking forward to the break, so I encouraged him to ask if he could keep the flights and go anyway. It was a sliding doors moment that we will always remember because that trip has not only led us to turning our marriage around in ways we never dreamed possible but also brought a new way of doing life together and a new country into our family’s life, with many Portuguese adventures already planned.
This past weekend was my first trip to Lisbon and it was the most beautiful weekend of love and joy. Stef totally spoilt me and looked after me. We have been so closely intwined for the past two decades that I don’t think he’s ever had the opportunity to share a city only he knows with me before. It was really special and I know it’s a weekend we will always remember.
For the first time I could really believe and be excited that this beautiful city is for us, not just for Stef. It really felt like the beginning of new adventures and I look forward to sharing more with you soon. For now, I wanted to put these photos of love, joy and hope here, so I can look back on them one day and see how far we’ve come! xo

You both look so happy 🥰
It looks and sounds magical Emily!
